Steeton were twice in danger of losing top spot in the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division at home to Salts.

They trailed 4-3 and 5-4, both inside the last five minutes, before securing a point in a 5-5 draw thabnks to Arley Barnes' second goal of the game.

Leading comfortably 2-1 at the interval, Steeton were rocked when Salts equalised and deservedly went on to lead 4-3.

Steeton levelled at 4-4, only for Salts to restore their advantage immediately before Barnes’s equaliser snatched victory away from them.

Steeton’s other goal-scorers were Chris Simpson, Damian Whiteoak and Joe Park, while Salts had Joni Earl, Joe Pleasance, Sam Waterhouse, Jonny Cunnington and Andy Howe on target.

First-half goals from Jamie Bairstow and Simon Wilson set Tyersal on the way to a 2-1 home victory over rivals Campion, with Ben O’Melia netting the visitors' consolation.

Overthorpe SC stay rooted to the foot of the table after losing 3-0 at home to Bay Athletic, while Lepton Highlanders returned to winning ways with a 3-1 home win over Littletown.

Wakefield City and Ventus Yeadon Celtic stay in the top two places in Division One, despite their respective games being postponed.

Tufeif Ali’s early strike for Albion Sports proved fruitless as visitors AFC Emley recovered to move into third place with a 3-1 victory.

A hat trick by Chris Helliwell helped Campion Reserves inflict a 3-1 defeat on Huddersfield YMCA - their first in six league games - Steve McMann getting the consolation.

Hunsworth picked up only their second win in six games with a 3-0 home victory over Westbrook YMCA, with Dale Wright, Andrew Wood and Luke Barker notching the goals.

Wibsey were left seeking their first league win of the season when they were held to a 4-4 draw at home to Tingley Athletic.

Chris Mortimer (2) added to others from Jack Williams and Danny O’Donnell for Wibsey, while Tino Chibaro (3) and Joe Ritson were on target for Tingley.

First-half goals from Andrew Foster and Adam Spencer gave Steeton Reserves a 2-1 victory at Littletown Reserves in Division Two, giving the Summerhill Lane side top spot ahead of Bay Athletic Reserves, who were without a fixture.

West Horton, after winning their first four games, dropped to third after losing 2-0 at Ovenden West Riding Reserves, while Salts Reserves and Hunsworth Reserves shared four goals.

Sam Gooding and new signing Robert Barraclough netted for Salts, while Steve Oakes and Toby Aspindale were on target for Hunsworth.

Tyersal Reserves made it three victories from three league games with a 5-2 success at basement side Tingley Athletic Reserves.

Dudley Hill Rangers booked their place in the next round of the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy, and a game against Salts Reserves, with a 6-0 home victory over Halifax League side Greetland Reserves.

Joe Whitehead (2) added to others from Adam Hird, Wayne Chippendale, Liam Bastesy and Will Gough.
