FC Sporting Keighley’s hopes of a second successive Mastab's Craven League promotion took a dent when they suffered a 1-0 defeat at local rivals Broomhill in Division Three.

The decisive goal was scored ten minutes from time by Patrick King, who beat the offside trap to head home Joe Park’s pinpoint cross.

The hosts had Jake Yaxley to thank for some important saves in the first half.

Victory saw fourth-placed Broomhill move two points behind FC Sporting, with a game in hand, and a point behind third-placed Oxenhope Rec as the battle to go up intensified.

Shazaib Hussain was man of the match for the visitors.

Silsden Whitestar secured their place in the Division One League Cup final with a 2-1 extra-time success over Helli-field Sports.

They will now play either Grassington United or Gar-grave after goals from Sam Stanfield and James White-head, who got the winner, saw them to their semi-final victory.

Gary Lund was the hero for Whitestar with a stoppage-time penalty save to take the match into extra-time.

Grassington United also needed an additional 30 minutes before defeating Chatburn 5-2.

The battle for the Division Two title is set for a thrilling climax.

Leaders AFC Colne completed their programme with a 6-2 win over Earby Town Reserves.

The result leaves Colne three points ahead of Skipton Town and six in front of Bingley Town, who both have two games in hand and meet in a crucial clash at Engine Shed Field on Saturday.

Skipton Town overcame Ingrow & Worth Valley 6-2, with goals from Graham Whitaker and Jordan Marsh proving in vain for the Keighley side.

Bingley Town were involved in Division Two League Cup action and eased into the semi-finals with a 4-1 victory over Cononley Sports Reserves.

They now face Earby Town Reserves on April 26 to see who will play Bradley in the final.

Skipton LMS need just one point from their remaining two games to secure a fourth-successive Premier Division title. Strikers Ian Craven and Luke Howsen each scored twice as LMS beat Grindleton 4-2.

Former Barnoldswick Town striker Liam Garbutt netted a hat-trick as Rolls overcame Cowling 4-1.

There was more gloom for bottom team Embsay as they went down 4-1 to Cononley Sports.

Both Joel Birks and Lee Thompson scored twice, Dave Greenwood netting Embsay’s consolation goal.

Trawden Celtic reached the semi-finals of the Northern Plant Hire Trophy with a 2-0 win over Cross Hills. Goals by Ben Gorman and Mark Young settled the outcome.

Division Four Leaders Man-ningham All Stars secured a 3-1 away win over Bradley Res-erves, while second-placed Polonia Patson overcame Carleton Reserves 3-2 with goals from Pizemyslaw Witch, Egidijus Mickiwicius and Mirdstaw Bak.
