Maine Road 4 Silsden 1
SILSDEN'S poor run against Maine Road in Manchester continued as they lost heavily to allow their opponents to close the gap in the North West Counties League Premier Division.
The Cobbydalers were fortunate not to lose keeper Phil Rishton to a red card just before the break after he raced off his line and made a poor challenge.
He was shown a yellow card for the foul because there were covering defenders but Connor Hughes netted the resulting penalty.
That saw the Mancunians 2-0 up at the break after Josh Harper had opened the scoring, and the home side were three goals to the good soon after the restart.
Richard Williams netted three minutes into the second half and, although Kev Ryan pulled a consolation goal back two minutes from time, Matthew Morgan restored the home side’s three-goal cushion in the last minute.
