Premier Division

Otley Town 2 Oxenhope 4

Oxenhope had to work hard for this three points, which kept them in third spot in the Premier Division.

The win all the more outstanding as Oxenhope had three of their key players unavailable. In a fast and furious game there was no let up and the result was in the balance until the final quarter.

The visitors shaded the first half and deservedly took the lead on 20 minutes when the pace of Leon Smith, whose pace was a constant threat to the Otley defenders, went past his marker and delivered a superbly-weighted pass into the path of his strike partner Michael Garnett to finish.

On the half-hour the home side equalised when they broke down their right and the cross was stroked home.

Within minutes Oxenhope were back in front from a throw-in. Josh Kaine used his strength to force his way along the byline and drive a forceful ball across goal for Garnett to get his second.

Early in the second half Otley drew level when a mix-up in the Oxenhope rearguard allowed their striker to take advantage.

The hosts were now in the ascendancy but the two stand-in centre backs of Ollie Metcalfe and man of the match Will Wells stood firm.

Having withstood the onslaught, Oxenhope took control and on 75 minutes Smith drilled a ball across the box. It was collected by the lively Tom Marshall, who beat his marker and drove the ball beyond the keeper.

Ten minutes later the game was made safe when Garnett's cross was drilled home at the far post by Smith from an acute angle.

Oxenhope have a bye in the first round of the Keighley Cup so have no game this Saturday.
