AFTER their recent league form, Saturday’s cup derby clash at home to neighbours Colne may be a timely distraction for Silsden.

The clubs have been drawn together in the North West Counties League Cup, which is titled the Men United Cup as it is supporting the battle against prostate cancer.

The Premier Division clubs come into it at this second-round stage and the hosts go into the game on the back of three league defeats.

However, they did win their last two cup ties. The Cobbydalers romped to a 5-0 win over Barnoldswick Town in the West Riding County Cup and beat Garforth Town 3-1 in the FA Vase at the start of the month.

Silsden have already beaten Colne this term at the Angel Telecom Stadium, winning the home league meeting thanks to a solitary Craig Nicholls strike.
