Cononley u-14s 4 Oakworth Wasps u-14s 1

This was always going to be a tough game with both sides near the top of the league. Cononley scored first against the run of play and again just before half-time.

Wasps played much better in the second first half and their persistence paid off with a goalmouth scramble finally put in the net by Tom Boddy.

Cononley added a long-range third before making it four just before the final whistle. Sam Nicholson, with some excellent defending, was Wasps man of the match.

Sutton Rascals u-15s 4 Calverley u-15s 4

Rascals were soon 1-0 up after a strong run and shot from Michael Bailey, who got his second after a great cross from Toby Jeffery.

Ben Clarkson made it 3-0 when he chipped the keeper and added a second before Calverley made it 4-1 at half-time.

The visitors came out strongly in the second half and, despite some great defending from Ewan Bailey and Darragh Davey-Burke who both shared the man of the match, and some fine saves from Cameron Webster, Calverley levelled the scores.

Rascals thought they'd won it but a goal was disallowed that left both managers bemused.

CTA Select Academy u-14s 4 Keighley Shamrocks Crusaders u-14s 2

Shammies played some excellent football but soon found out that against top Academy opposition, basic errors get punished.

After a clearance was fluffed, the ball fell to the CTA centre midfielder who took a touch before hitting a rocket from 25 yards into the goal. Shortly after, a wayward pass on the edge of the area fell to a CTA player who had no trouble in finding the corner of the net.

The misery continued as yet another defensive mistake was punished with a goal. Skipper Harry Farnell then rallied his troops with some storming challenges. Max Pearson, Kas Ali and Dylan Ward began to play some exquisite football on the right and set up Jack Hanson, who fired the ball under the goalkeeper to make it 3-1.

Now with the upper hand, Dom Westcott and Harry Farnell combined well to set Hanson free again, who checked back and slotted the ball into the net to set up an exciting finish. After defending solidly for half an hour, a fatal lack of communication between two Shamrocks defenders left the CTA striker unchallenged and he beat the keeper to seal victory.
