SILSDEN under-19s boss Steve Narey felt the margin of his side’s defeat at Pickering Town was harsh, the Pikes ending 5-1 winners.

After going behind early, the youngsters had a goal disallowed for offside before half-time but levelled through a Jack Wrigglesworth chip over the keeper.

However, the Cobbydalers conceded two goals in quick succession and a further two late on.

Narey said: “I was very disappointed with the scoreline as it didn’t reflect the game but lots of positives came out for us against a good-quality Pickering side.”

Their scheduled match at home to Emley yesterday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
