BRADLEY, and particularly Tom Wilson, made light of the tricky conditions to cruise into the quarter-finals of the Craven & District FA Cup.

Wilson scored four, including an audacious 40-yard David Beckham-style chip, in their 7-3 victory over East Lancashire League visitors Waddington.

On a pitch that held up well, Bradley, who haven't had a lot to smile about in the Mastab's Craven League as they are next to bottom in Division One, blew away their opponents in the first half, leading 5-1 down the slope after some of the best football they have played all season.

The much-improved performance continued in the second half, which was shared 2-2, Zac Conway adding to his first-half goal, with the tally being completed by an own goal.

It was a welcome return to form for the Canalsiders, who had endured a tough October and November.

Bradley will now play at Premier Division title favourites Rolls on Saturday, January 17.

The other ties are: Skipton LMS FC v Cononley Sports, Settle United v Skipton Town and Embsay v Rimington.

On the same date, Cononley Sports Reserves entertain Bradley Reserves in the Norman Pratt Trophy.

There was also some league action, and Ingrow & Worth Valley overtook Bradley in the table, despite playing for 80 minutes with ten men.

Switching their home game from Oakbank to Holy Family, Ingrow saw off Pendle Renegades 4-1 to move out of the bottom two.

The home side's Jack Bilney was hacked down from behind after six minutes but referee Peter Allen allowed play to go on.

However, four minutes later, Bilney took matters into his own hands and flew into an over-the-top tackle with the Renegade who had fouled him, giving Allen little option but to send him off.

Around the half-hour mark, Ingrow broke the deadlock. Wayne Mahomet’s long kick down field bounced off the Pendle centre back, leaving Chris Wheater to skip clear and volley into the left corner of the net.

The goal lifted the Steampigs, and Wheater and Danny Driver both went close twice, although Mahomet had to make a superb save.

Chris Wheater then finished a flowing move to make it 2-0 and, looking secure at the back with Craig Wheater pulling the strings in midfield, substitute Ryan Stubbs' cross was met by a meaty Liam Bellamy header for 3-0.

Stubbs then slid in to score from close range after Chris Wheater's shot was goalbound, Pendle scoring with the last kick of the match.

Ingrow’s man of the match award was shared by Mahomet and Jon Walshaw, although all of the players deserved credit for playing for so long when short-handed.

In Division Three, Sutton Reserves got off the mark in style with a 12-3 victory at next-to-bottom Barlick Wanderers, while Cowling Reserves leapfrogged visitors Ingrow & Worth Valley Reserves in mid-table after beating them 3-2.

Phil Dodsworth and Robbie Davison were on target for the visitors, who had the twin handicap of turning up two players light

and having an error-prone keeper.

Meanwhile, Sporting Keighley are within a victory of top spot in Division Two after a 2-1 triumph at Settle United Reserves.

Aaran Abbas and Mohammed Zohaib were on target for the visitors, who had taken the precaution of booking the artificial pitch at Marley in case Settle United's pitch was not fit.
