THE GOALS were certainly flying into the net in the two Mastab's Craven League First Division matches that survived the snow and frost.

Silsden Whitestar surprised leaders Chatburn, drawing 6-6 to climb a place to second, and the star of the show for the visitors was four-goal Mark Bradley.

Ben McClennon and Sam Stanfield were also on target as the Silsden side moved up a place to second, three points adrift of their hosts but with three games in hand.

There was also a 12-goal thriller at Skipton Town but this time Ingrow & Worth Valley were 7-5 victors.

Danny Driver and Jordan Marsh grabbed two apiece for the winners, with Joe Nkome, Josh Yeadon and Ryan Stubbs also finding the home team’s net.

In a scrappy game, the Steampigs gained revenge on their hosts, who had beaten them on the opening day of the season.

Ingrow welcomed back long-term injury casualties Martin Coleman and Gareth Atkinson but had an enforced change in goal with the less-than-mobile Chris Wheater filling in for their regular keeper.

Town started strongly and were 2-0 up within 20 minutes although, if not for man of the match Wheater, could have been more.

After these goals, Ingrow managed to get a foothold in the game and scored four goals before half-time, mainly helped by some calamitous efforts by Skipton’s man between the sticks.

The second half was end to end stuff and, with 25 minutes to go, the scores were locked at 5-5.

The game started to become very feisty and, with Ingrow players starting to lose their heads, manager Liam Marsh brought on Atkinson and moved the experienced Coleman to his favoured central midfield position to steady the ship.

This settled the players but not Marsh, who was sent to the stands by the referee after a violent outburst.

With Ingrow now back controlling possession, they piled on the pressure, and Coleman struck the post with a fierce drive.

Ingrow would not be denied, however, and, with ten minutes to go, Yeadon got a scrappy goal to put Ingrow 6-5 up.

A breakaway goal then sealed the three points.

In Division Three, Bradley Reserves handed second-placed victors Pendle Renegades Reserves only their fourth defeat of the season.

The home side won 3-2 to climb from 11th to ninth thanks to goals from Robbie Smith, man of the match Tom Wilson and substitute Vincent Grant.

Thabani Songo did his best to inspire Cowling at Grassington United in the Premier Division but the tenth-placed visitors lost 5-0 as the hosts climbed two places to fourth.

Having lost five of their last six league games to the weather, FC Sporting Keighley continued to keep match fit with another friendly, this time against Craven League Division Two rivals Broomhill.

Sporting won 5-2, Aaran and Zain Abbas netting two apiece, with Aatir Zuber also on target on Marley’s artificial pitch.
