East End Park 3 Oxenhope Rec 1
Oxenhope produced their worst performance of the season at relegation-threatened East End Park, despite scoring the opener.
Rec started the brighter and, on the quarter-hour, Will Wells poked home a Dan Moriarty corner. From another corner Scott Nelson glanced a header wide and Tom Marshall went close with a couple of efforts.
All looked well but midway through the half the home side equalised from a long throw which was flicked on and tapped in at the far post.
This lifted East End and they started to dominate play. Just before half-time they were rewarded when a shot from a tight angle was parried by keeper Sam Lee and the rebound was tucked away.
Oxenhope tried to get back into the game in the second half but passes went astray and they never found their rhythm against determined hosts, who made the points safe with a long ball over the top which was finished by their striker.
This Saturday Oxenhope will need to bounce back to form when they host Knaresborough Town (2.30pm).
Oxenhope: Lee, Wells, McNicol, Nelson, Walton (Bentham), White, Kaine (Day), Moriarty, Morris, Quinlan, Marshall.
