Keighley Oaks 1 Ossett Town 5
AGAIN depleted by injuries and unavailabilities as they only had 12 players turning up from a squad of 27, Keighley Oaks relied a lot on their youngsters in a match that could have had more goals either way.
Among those missing were Molly McMahon, Amy Phelan, Jodie Elliott, Emma Firth, Becky Granger and Mel Houldsworth as Oaks found themselves 2-1 down at half-time.
Keighley’s goal, on a bitterly cold afternoon, came from Laura Adams, who tapped home a Kirsty Delaney cross at the far post, but Adams (twice), Delaney and Rachel Holdsworth had half-chances in the opening period.
An Adams cross for player of the match Delaney almost brought reward in the second half as the weather seemed to affect the hosts more than the visitors, who added three more goals to their tally.
On Sunday, Oaks are likely to be much stronger for their League Cup quarter-final derby at Silsden as they bid to join Brighouse Town, Harrogate Railway Athletic and Tingley Athletic Reserves in the last four.
