Keighley Shamrocks u-14s 1 Calverley u-14s 0

Tom Ormerod stood out for Shammies in the first half as he linked up with Dom Westcott on the left to cause no end of problems for Calverley.

Tom Broadbent and Kas Ali combined to set Harry Farnell free, who then beat the last defender before slotting the ball under the keeper to score the only goal of the game.

Keenan Potts shone in both attack and defence in the second half and despite having most of the possession, Shammies were unable to add to the score.

Importantly they'd done enough to lift the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Division A title for the third successive year.

Salts u-18s 2 Oxenhope u-18s 4

Oxenhope leapfrogged their opponents to secure runners-up spot in their first season in Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Division.

The visitors took the lead in the first minute when a measured free-kick from Lewis Hopkinson picked out Callum Holmes, who dinked the ball over the keeper. On ten minutes Salts equalised through a defensive error and, on the quarter-hour, took the lead following a break down the left, the Salts front man cutting in and firing home from a tight angle.

Oxenhope regrouped and played some superb passing football. Just before the break a cross from the left to the far post enabled Joe Cutler to head in a deserved equaliser.

In the second half the visitors were relentless and laid siege to the Salts goal. The pressure told when Tom Baker’s initial shot was blocked by the keeper but Matty Klava nipped in to slot home.

Oxenhope continued to give one of their best all-round team performances of the season. The points were secured when man of the match Baker topped off an outstanding performance by scoring a candidate for goal of the season. Breaking down the right and going past two defenders, he cut in along the bye line, drew the keeper and stroked the ball in from a narrow angle.
