INGROW & Worth Valley have made Grassington United rue their decision not to shorten their Craven League Northern Plant Hire Trophy quarter-final.

Underdogs Ingrow had suggested reducing the match to 40 minutes each way to beat the gathering gloom due to a late kick-off.

But Grassington refused – to their cost – as they conceded twice in the last ten minutes of the 90-minute cup tie.

This was the Division One strugglers' third Premier Division scalp as they have steamed into the semi-finals.

Having already seen off top-flight Cononley Sports 4-0 and Grindleton 3-0, the Steampigs had to hit back from behind with a late, late show to add Grassington to their belt.

A nervous Ingrow did not settle until 20 minutes in and had a penalty shout refused after Ryan Stubbs looked to have been upended.

Ingrow’s goal was rarely threatened, and they again thought they had taken the lead on the hour when a ball from Martin Coleman put Stubbs clear.

He squared for Chris Wheater to put the ball in the net, but the referee ruled Wheater offside.

With 20 minutes left, a deep cross from Grassington's full back was headed in by Tarek Issa but Ingrow piled on the pressure and, with the clock having ticked past 80 minutes, a defensive error let in substitute Josh Yeadon to grab a equaliser.

Then a corner in the 90th minute dropped invitingly for another substitute, Liam Fothergill, to volley a brilliant winner.

Ingrow then held out for five minutes of stoppage time and now head to holders and reigning league champions Skipton LMS in the semi-final.

The Steampigs' manager Liam Marsh said: “I’m made up with the performance and am proud of all of the 14 players. Also the support we had really pushed us on.”

Meanwhile, in the league, Scott Newton-inspired Cross Hills win 3-2 at LMS in the Premier Division and are six points ahead of Rolls, who have three games in hand.

However, in-form Reece Fowler couldn't make the difference as Cononley Sports lost 5-0 at home to Settle United.

In Division One, leaders Silsden Whitestar profited from a walkover against Cononley Sports Reserves but they also won 3-1 at Pendle Renegades, with goals from Ben O'Melia, Sam Stanfield and James Whitehead, Andy Kay winning the man-of-the-match award.

Leaders Broomhill's 2-2 draw at Grindleton Reserves has opened the door slightly for third-placed Oxenhope Recreation but they are still favourites to win Division Two.

Andy King and substitute Adam Whitaker scored for Broomhill, for whom Chris Holroyd starred, and Polonia stayed in fifth after a 4-2 victory at fourth-placed Grassington United Reserves, goals coming from Pizemyslaw Witch (2), Mirdstaw Bak and Maciej Zoltek, Macilj Gawrydi taking both man-of-the-match awards.

Cross Hills Reserves profited from a walkover against Barlick Wanderers in Division Three but Robbie Smith's fine play wasn't enough for Bradley Reserves, who lost 2-1 at home to Horton.

Similarly, Martyn Dalby took both gongs for Cowling Reserves in their 6-1 home defeat to Skipton Town Reserves, while Joe Crummock took the award for Sutton Reserves in their 4-0 home loss to Skipton Town Reserves.
