THERE was silverware on display all over the place as Oxenhope Football Club celebrated the most successful season in the club's 102-year history.

Pride of place among the five trophies on display at a presentation evening that was attended by over 70 players and supporters was the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup.

A total of 126 teams entered the competition from across the region, but Oxenhope won it for the first time by defeating fellow West Yorkshire League Premier Division side Leeds City 6-3 at county HQ at Woodlesford on a never-to-be-forgotten evening.

The first team also won the Keighley & District FA Cup for the third time in four years, while the reserves lifted the Keighley & District FA Supplementary Cup by defeating their third team in one of the best local cup finals.

However, the third team were not to be disappointed as they went on to achieve a league and cup double in the Craven & District League by being crowned Division Two champions and winning the Division Two Cup.

The first team finished a creditable sixth in the Premier Division, equalling the position of 2013-14 but gaining more points.

The reserves, in the top flight of the West Yorkshire Alliance Division, came fourth and had a chance of the title right up until the final few games.

The managers’ awards went to Tom Marshall, Nick Hudson and Danny Fazackerley, while the players’ player trophies went to Tom Marshall, Will Lee and Connor Madden.

The leading goal scorer award was won by Dan Moriarty, the James Fisher Memorial Trophy for young player of the year was collected by Lewis Hopkinson, while Ollie Metcalfe took the supporters' award.

The third team player of the season went to Liam Dyson, the Clifford Coates Cup for the reserves' player of the year was won by Lewis Hopkinson and the Duncan Frazer Cup for the first team’s top player was collected by Marshall.

The Ashley Bevan Memorial Trophy for clubman of the year went to first-team manager Sam Duffin.

More good news for the Worth Valley club is that they have entered an under-15 team in the Craven, Aire and Wharfe Junior League, playing on Sundays alongside their under-18 side.
