Cammell Laird 1907 2 Silsden 0

THE Cobbydalers missed a good opportunity to vastly improve their placing in the North West Counties League Premier Division with a poor showing at Cammell Laird 1907.

The home side were five places higher but only one point better off ahead of Silsden’s visit but pulled away following a comfortable win.

They were quite fortunate to be awarded a 20th-minute penalty after Kev Ryan was adjudged to have fouled Jay Clarke, Craig Cairns stepping up to fire past Danny Thorpe.

An injured Aaron Hollindrake was forced to make way for substitute Talent Ndlovu at half-time and the latter was party culpable as the Lairds doubled their lead.

He took a short corner, with the Cobbydalers having thrown big defenders forward for the set-piece, and the Lairds broke away, Leon Hollett completing the move.
