Wharfedale Triangle Division One: Cullingworth Youth 3 Yeadon Athletic 3

An entertaining match between two unbeaten sides saw honours end even. A draw was a fair result but Youth will be kicking themselves that they didn't claim all three points.

They came from a goal down in the 28th minute to lead 3-1 with 20 minutes to go but two basic errors cost them two points thanks to poor defending from a corner and a penalty.

The visitors had slightly the better of the first-half exchanges and were worthy of their lead but, with five minutes to go before the break, Youth captain Harry Holmes – who led by example in a man of the match display – scored a great equaliser.

The second period saw end to end play. Cullingworth brought on sub Joshua Ellison and within five minutes he had given his side the lead.

Midway through this second period Joel Hardy added a third goal but then Youth committed self-destruction in the last 20 minutes and the points were shared.

Cullingworth are at home to Shipley Town Reserves on Sunday in the second round of the league cup.
