Wharfedale Triangle League Division One: Yeadon 3 Cullingworth 8

Kirkland Park in Yeadon was the place to see goals last Sunday as Youth comfortably took the spoils.

A frantic opening saw Cullingworth take a 2-0 lead, only for the hosts to level with only 20 minutes on the clock.

Youth were awarded a penalty in the first minute, which striker Joshua Ellison converted, and they made it two straight from the resumption.

However, a long punt up from a Yeadon defender saw the ball reach one of his forwards who was allowed to score – Youth claiming an offside decision should have been given.

Then the hosts levelled as Cullingworth left themselves open at the back. Youth's reply was to score a further three goals before the break to regain control.

The visitors dominated the second period, though still leaving their defence vulnerable with their all-out attacking play.

Cullingworth keeper Michael Bright came to his defence's rescue with some good saves.

Youth increased their lead when Jonathan Clewes scored his second goal and, though Yeadon replied with their third goal, a further two strikes completed an easy away victory.

Kyle Fox, man of the match Harry Holmes, Josh Town and Chris Deacon joined Clewes (2) and Ellison (2) on the scoresheet.

On Sunday Youth are at home to Otley Tavern, who they defeated 4-3 away in the first game of the season.
