SOUTH CRAVEN extended their lead at the top of the Bradford Secondary Schools' Sports Association Floodlit League to seven points thanks to an 11-1 hiding of Dixons Academy Allerton.

Once Andy Briggs latched onto Will Hibbert's delightful through ball and crashed it home after 11 minutes, there was no stopping them.

The industrious Jennings made it 2-0 followed by three more from Dom Firth in the space of 16 first-half minutes, missing a penalty before achieving his hat-trick.

Sedgwick added a sixth by half-time before Briggs completed his triple. Dixons put through their own goal before Hibbert got number ten from the penalty spot before Jacob Fryer completed the rout with a rasping drive, the hosts adding a late consolation.

South Craven's win came on the back of a draw with Thornton and a narrow win at Beckfoot.

In windy conditions at Thornton, playing good football proved difficult.

The visitors needed a sprawling save from keeper Matt Bolton to keep a clean sheet, while Sedgwick went close for the Cross Hills school as the match ended goalless.

Defeat looked on the cards at Beckfoot when they trailed 2-0 but a corner from Morgan Bridge was headed home by Jacob Fryer to give South Craven hope at half-time.

The second half was a different story as full backs Bucke and Richardson prevented the home side's tricky wingers from creating chances.

Briggs surged forward and equalised with a fine drive across the keeper and, with six minutes to go, an over-hit back-pass by a Beckfoot defender went through the keeper's legs to hand an unlikely win to South Craven.
