INGROW & Worth Valley Reserves saw in the new year in style by notching only their second victory of the season in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League.

Their startling 9-4 victory at mid-table Barlick Wanderers was not enough to haul them off the bottom of Division Three but it did bring them to within a point of Sutton and also put the second string within striking distance of Broomhill Reserves and Bingley Town Reserves.

Goals for the Steampigs came from braces by Jack Bilney, man of the match Ryan Gaughan, David Harman and Daniel Wilkinson, with Jordan Marsh getting the other goal.

It was a tough start to 2016, however, for Broomhill Reserves and Sutton.

The reserves lost 6-1at Ilkley, with David Spence getting the consolation and Jamie Greenwood the man of the match award, while Sutton went down 7-0 at leaders Hellifield.

Cross Hills were beaten 7-1 at Settle United in the Premier Division, despite the best efforts of Jimmy Anson.
