THE excellent draining qualities of Settle United's pitch at Bridge End again came to the fore in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League.

Their home game against Andy Kay-inspired sixth-placed Silsden Whitestar was one of only two that survived the wet weather, with the hosts triumphing 2-0 to climb from fourth to third.

Daniel Bathers and Ben Phillip were on target for United, who went above Rolls and easily have the best defence in the top flight, having conceded only seven goals in nine matches.

The next best are Trawden Celtic with 13 from ten matches.

The last three games in the Premier Division – be they league or cup – have all been played at Settle United.
