West Riding County Women's Football League First Division: Republica Internationale 0 Silsden Ladies 0

Silsden had their sights set on a second victory in eight days over their Leeds-based opponents following the previous week's 3-0 win at the Angel Telecom Stadium.

The Cobbydalers dominated early possession and created a few half-chances but resolute defending and poor finishing maintained the stalemate.

Overlapping full back Bex Brown looped a ball into the box which was bundled home at the second attempt by Nicola Frankland, only for it to be disallowed by the unsighted referee for an infringement on the home keeper, who Silsden claimed was pushing Frankland.

Frustration turned to desperation as Republica made a couple of counter-attacks which almost caught Silsden out.

The second half continued much in the same vein, with Silsden still unable to find a way through despite the twisting runs of player of the match Elly Field and the powerful Stacey Wood's battering ram style.

Good wing play from Jess Buck, Lily Davies, Megan Robson-Owens & even marauding centre back Beth Gaines either fizzled out or was met by resolute defending as Silsden saw time slip away.

In the dying seconds Robson-Owens broke through the defence, only for her shot to flash narrowly over the bar. Field was awarded Silsden's Player of the Match.
