THERE will be two FA Cup replays this week after Albion Sports and Silsden both drew 1-1 away from home in the extra-preliminary round.

Albion will host Harrogate Railway Athletic on Wednesday at Throstle Nest after being behind for just five minutes at Station View. Railway’s Harry Brown broke the deadlock midway through the first half but Danny Facey levelled after home keeper Jake Lofthouse parried a Reece Jenkinson effort.

Former Farsley stopper Lofthouse saved an Aran Basi penalty later in the first half and Facey had the ball in the net with 20 minutes remaining but an offside flag curtailed any celebration.

Silsden will meet Bridlington Town at the Angel Telecom Stadium on Tuesday after Luke Richardson’s 73rd-minute equaliser. Andy Norfolk had given the home side a first-half lead.

Liversedge and Thackley are both out of the competition, Sedge after a 5-2 home defeat to Guisborough Town. It was an excellent game for the spectators and much closer than the scoreline suggests.

Vaughan Redford hit a first-half leveller but Sedge still trailed 2-1 at the break. Joe Walton scored Sedge’s second to make it 3-2 just before the hour mark. Stoppage time goals at the end of the first half and in the 93rd minute by Guisborough’s Thibault Charmey help slant the score in the visitors’ favour.

There was no joy for the Dennyboys as they went down 2-0 at Newcastle Benfield. Josh Scott, midway through the first half, and Scott McCarthy in first-half stoppage time were on target in a game that saw two penalty saves.

Thackley keeper Matt Convey saved the home side’s spot kick and Andrew Grainger parried Thackley’s effort, with Dan Broadbent firing over the bar with his follow-up attempt.

Campion won their first ever match on the non-league ladder as a storming second-half display earned them a three-point maximum in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One.

It looked like a tough baptism for Campion at Westella & Willerby as they trailed 2-1 at the break but they came back strongly to run out 5-2 winners. Eli Hey netted the visitors’ first-half goal and he wrapped up the scoring in injury-time, Matty Walker, Jordan Missin and Danny Stocker also finding the target for Campion.

There was also a first-day victory on the road for Eccleshill United. The Eagles were 3-1 winners at Teversal after going a goal down in the third minute. Adam Turner bagged a brace and close season signing Alex Cusack also netted.

Farsley Celtic drew their final friendly 3-3 in an entertaining clash at Witton Albion. The Farsley goals all came from an unlikely source as centre back Adam Clayton claimed a rare hat-trick.
