FARSLEY Celtic will be looking forward to tomorrow’s FA Cup third qualifying round draw after a comfortable 2-0 win over Evo-Stik Division One North rivals Tadcaster Albion.

Taddy had the psychological advantage of being the first team to prevent Farsley winning this season when they held the Celts to a goalless draw in the league last month.

Farsley, however, made up for that result as James Walshaw netted a first half penalty and Paul Walker scored following a slip by goalkeeper Charlie Murphy.

Celts’ keeper Graham McKibbon also saved a penalty from former Bradford Park Avenue striker Tom Corner.

Liversedge maintained the pressure on leaders Cleethorpes Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division with a 3-2 home win over Worksop Town.

Sedge needed a last minute winner to overcome last season’s promotion chasers Worksop after coming back from a half time deficit. Charlie Dawes gave the visitors the lead but Tom Brook and Harrison Blakey hit back in the second half.

Worksop levelled through Henry Sibenge’s superb free kick but Cody Cromack netted a dramatic winner.

Sedge remain in second place and Albion Sports retained third spot after edging a seven goal thriller at nearby Garforth Town.

Albion’s Omar Habeeb scored in the first half but the Lions trailed 2-1 at the break. A second half double from Karl Hall and Danny Facey strike rewarded the visitors’ resilience. Mark Simpson (2) and Vincent Desi were on target for Garforth as it ended 4-3.

Thackley are hot on the heels of their local rivals after a 3-1 home victory over Rainworth MW lifted them intto fourth spot.

Ryan Farrell hit the only goal of the first half and, although the visitors briefly restored parity when Robert Ludlam hit the target, goals from Ben Joyce and Dan Broadbent saw the Dennyboys to a comfortable win.

Campion returned to action in Division One after a blank Saturday last weekend and collected a point from a 1-1 draw with fellow newcomers Ollerton Town.

There was no joy for Eccleshill United as they returned from Rossington Main with their tails between their legs after a 3-0 loss.

Silsden cruised to a 5-2 win over basement outfit AFC Blackpool in the Hallmark Security League lower tier.

The Cobbydalers even scored all seven goals as Matty Moses headed past his own keeper Callum Jakovlevs who later palmed in a visitors’ corner!

Nicky McNally and Will Storrie ensured the Cobbydalers held a 2-1 half time lead and Chris Wademan stretched the home side’s lead before Ross Wilson hit a late brace after Jakovlevs' error.
