NICKY McNally hit a hat-trick as the Cobbydalers cruised into the third round of the West Riding County Cup with a slick performance.

There was an early scare for Silsden when Sean Goodwin’s cross from the right was headed home by Luke Williams to give the visitors the lead.

Ross Wilson had a shot blocked before McNally rifled home a 20th minute equaliser before further goals from Ross Wilson and McNally gave them a 3-1 half-time lead.

Four minutes into the second half Conor Erangey and Will Storrie set up McNally tfor his hat-trick.

Further goals from substitute Danny Riley and Leon Smith sealed Silsden’s win and a third round meeting with Halifax Town who crushed Ossett Albion 8-1.

The win delighted new boss Danny Forrest. He said: “I asked the players to move the ball quickly on the slick surface. and we created numerous chances by stretching our opponents.

“Everyone did their job but the engine house of Connor Erangey and Josh Eastwood kept the momentum going throughout.”
