West Riding County Women's League: Silsden Ladies Development 2 Tyersal Ladies 10

Injuries took their toll on Silsden as they bowed out for the League Shield first round.

The Cobbydalers opened the scoring in the third minute with a superb strike but the visitors struck back in the 22nd minute.

The hosts were unlucky not to retake the lead, instead suffering two blows against the run of play as Tyersal led 3-1 at the break.

Silsden lost one of their experienced central midfielders for the second half and Tyersal took advantage to increase their lead in the 48th minute with a superb cross and first-time finish.

Silsden were holding their own but the opposition struck again in the 65th minute. Injuries forced them into further changes but their determination was rewarded in the 70th minute when Natasha Mulligan's superb long-range shot found the back of the Tyersal net.

However, injuries left the visitors with ten players and Tyersal ran away with it, adding another five goals.

Silsden still came off with their heads held high after giving 100 per cent. Kate Perfect was awarded their man of the match.
