THE Bradford Sunday Alliance League are celebrating after producing two of the four semi-finalists in the West Riding County FA Sunday Cup.

West Bowling won through emphatically, defeating Leeds Combination League side JB Celtic 6-0 at Weetwood Sports Park, but fellow Premier Division side Sandy Lane Sunday made heads turn with their 3-1 victory over former winners HT Sports.

Leeds Combination League hosts HT Sports, who play at New Farnley Cricket Club, paid for their ill discipline, having three players sent off, but they also had two penalties saved by the in-form Josh Brooksbank.

In a performance that was earmarked by work rate, organisation and an unbreakable desire, Sandy's goals came from Matthew Cavanagh (penalty), a bullet header by Lee Smith and a 'worldy' from Carl Smith.

West Bowling made a great start, JB's keeper making a top-class save from a Chris Wood free-kick, but it wasn't long before they took the lead, Wood's flick being headed by Josh Milner into the path of leading scorer Glyn Hirst, who scored from just inside the box.

Former Bowling player Tom Carlisle made another great save to deny Aidan Day down by a post, but the game turned when JB's Chad Morris was sent off for a reckless tackle.

Bowling made use of the extra man when Tom Lambert passed the ball down the line to Milner, who drove it into the box for Wood to slot home Two more minutes then passed before Hirst finished off a move involving Wood and Milner to make it 3-0 at half- time.

Bowling's thirst for goals continued in the second half when Hirst laid the ball off to Wood, whose left-foot shot went in by a post.

Things then got worse for the home team when they had Luke Hunter sent off for abusive language, reducing them to nine men, but Bowling showed no sympathy and soon scored again when Lambert linked up to put Day in.

It was now attack v defence now and only the brilliance of Carlisle kept the score down but Milner opened them up once more to put his name on the scoresheet.

Both West Bowling and Sandy Lane Sunday will now play their semi-finals in April at West Riding County FA headquarters at Fleet Lane, Woodlesford.

There were also league matches in the Bulk Sports Bradford Sunday Alliance League, with Ventus United defeating Bolton Woods 3-2 in the Premier Division.

In Division 1A, Woodman Wanderers moved above Station Hotel when they beat the leaders 4-1 at Avenue Road.

Goalscorers for the visitors were Kyle Smith (2), Jordan Rhodes (close-range volley) and Jordan Sargent (penalty after he was fouled) but Eastward also cleared three off the line.

Second-placed Tyersal returned to winning ways with a 4-0 victory at Throstle Nest United, courtesy of Josh Finnan (2), Joshua Hyde and Jake Scott.
