THE race for the Taylor's Timber West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division championship remains wide open.

Littletown missed the chance to take top spot after being pegged back in a 2-2 draw at Steeton.

Striker Joe Jagger netted a goal in each half to give his side a two-goal advantage before Alistair Morgan and Lee Reilly scored for Steeton.

Newsome took over the leadership, ahead of Huddersfield rivals Golcar United on goal difference, after two goals from Joel Bryce and one by Adam Hill gave them a 3-1 victory.

Callum Meade had put Golcar in front in the first half.

Lower Hopton, with two goals from Nathan Alexander and one from Brighton Mugadza, moved into fourth with a 3-0 victory at last season's champions Huddersfield YMCA.

Route One Rovers' run of 11 successive Division One victories ended when they could only take a point from their trip to promotion rivals Britannia Sports, the draw being their first of the season.

Ventus Yeadon Celtic, without a league victory since the end of January, slipped up 3-1 at home to Steeton Reserves.

Terry Hargreaves netted for Ventus, while Ben Clarkson (2) and Brannan Lawn hit the target for Steeton's second string.

TVR United secured the Division Two championship when they won 6-1 at Lower Hopton Reserves, goals for the winners coming from Abid Khan (2), Jinaid Taj (2), Danyal Hussain and Asif Iqbal, with Dale Hanson replying.

Salts Reserves, who have one game left, will finish second.
