AFTER winning both the Keighley & District FA Challenge Cup and the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League’s Premier Division Cup, Silsden Whitestar's league season has ended in disappointing fashion.
They handed champions Settle United a home walkover two weekends ago, and finished their campaign with an 8-3 defeat on Saturday at Grassington United, who thus secured the runners-up berth.
Ten-man Whitestar only trailed 4-3 at half-time thanks to goals by joint men of the match Sam Stanfield (2) and Mateusz Tomas, but then conceded four goals without reply.
From having the chance to finish second, Whitestar ended up being fourth as Rolls also passed them.
