COWLING are breathing down the neck of Cross Hills after notching their first win of the season in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League.

Visitors Pendle Renegades were sent packing 7-3 in the Premier Division, with Luke Barker (4), substitute Tim McNee (2) and Sam Woolley on target for Cowling.

The latter are still in a relegation position, but only trail their south Craven neighbours by one on goal difference.

Cross Hills also competed well in going down 2-1 at second-placed Grassington United.

Mark Hoban netted for Cross Hills, whose man of the match was Craig Donegan.

Having broken the 100-goal barrier for Silsden Whitestar the previous week, Sam Stanfield has his eyes on 200.

The marksman scored five of their nine goals in a 9-1 romp at Sporting Keighley, braces from Joshua Metcalfe and James Wilson making up the tally.

Keighley's consolation goal came from Abdullah Din.

James Robinson's goal was enough to give Bradley victory at Chatburn in Division One, but Jake Manditsch could not inspire Cononley Sports to glory at home to Rolls Reserves, who won 4-3.

In Division Two, Zac Conway and Simon Cox were on target for Silsden Whitestar Reserves, who went down 3-2 at home to second-placed Bingley Town.

Broomhill Reserves have become the first team to take points off leaders Burnley Belvedere in Division Three, drawing 2-2 with the visitors.

Kieran Henry and Paul Wilkinson netted for the second string against opponents who had won their five previous matches.

Man of the match Jamie Page (2) and Tom Storrie were on target for Cross Hills Reserves in their 3-3 draw at home to Iplay Barrowford, while Cowling Reserves triumphed 4-1 at Sutton, courtesy of goals by Callum Lowe (2), Lee Complin and Jimmy Anson.

Nathan Todd got the consolation goal for Sutton, whose man of the match was Chris Vollentine.
