West Yorkshire League Alliance Division One: Oxenhope Reserves 7 East End Park Reserves 2

AFTER two recent heavy defeats, Oxenhope bounced back in dishing out a drubbing to East End Park.

The home side took an early lead when Joel Gallagher cut into the box from the left and slotted past the advancing keeper.

Oxenhope continued to press and, on the half-hour, their dominance was rewarded when Danny Driver's shot was blocked by the keeper but Tom Duffin was on hand to put the ball away.

Minutes later Oxenhope added a third, Dave Nelson curling a free-kick against the post from the edge of the box and Paddy Ellison reacting quickest to drive in the rebound.

The home side increased their lead when Driver beat the last defender from a through-ball and smashed a shot into the top corner.

Just before the break East End pulled a goal back from a swift counter-attack.

But within minutes of the restart, the home side restored their advantage. Will Lee muscled his way past his marker in the box and, though his first shot was parried, the keeper could not stop his follow-up.

East End remained dangerous on the break and were rewarded with a penalty after a 50/50 challenge on the edge of the box, which was converted to make it 5-2.

But Oxenhope continued their dominance and Lee cut into the box before squaring to Gallagher to make it six with a clinical finish.

In the final minutes, young debutant Liam Bonner came off the bench. He intercepted a pass, drove down the left and cut the ball back to Lee, who drove his shot into the top corner to make it a magnificent seven.

This Saturday Oxenhope Reserves play in the County Trophy when they entertain Leeds City Reserves at the Recreation Ground (2pm).

Oxenhope Res: Driver D, Makinson, Wellard (Bonner), Pullan (McLaren), Ellison, Hardy, Nelson D, Driver D, Gallagher, Lee, Duffin (Snowden).
