STEETON Under-18s have been handed a two-year kit sponsorship by the local Co-op.

Majid Mahmood, who is store manager of the branch on Skipton Road in Steeton said: “We are delighted to help Steeton AFC and support the progression of the under-18s.

“Both the Co-op and Steeton AFC are both huge parts of the community and I think that there are plenty of ways that we can both work together for it.

“The football club is a huge part of the village and we are right behind the club as they look to progress and move up the football pyramid.”

Steeton first-team boss Roy Mason said: “I am delighted that Maj and his team have agreed to sponsor the Under-18s.

“We have invested heavily in youth this season with new Under-19 and Under-18 sides as we are always looking to the future both on and off the field.

“Without the help of local business then we simply wouldn’t be able to operate and progress as a club.”

The youngsters wore their new strip for the first time in a 13-0 hammering of Menston.
