Steeton u-18s 4 Salts u-18s 3

STEETON kept their unbeaten run going in a match switched to Marley's 3G pitch, courtesy of the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League, to get the game on.

They started well, using their full backs Zain Hussain and Jacob Bryceland to stretch Salts and feed wide players Harrison Houldsworth and Dominic Westcott, but loose passes caused things to break down.

However, they stuck at it and it was one of these moves that got Steeton off the mark. Westcott picked out the on-rushing Hussain at the back post with a fine cross and he found the net with a bullet header into the top corner.

Steeton got their second when Salts failed to deal with a corner and Kaisar Ali bundled home, though the visitors pulled one back from the spot before half-time.

Salts' more direct style saw them equalise early in the second half before they took the lead with a well-struck free-kick.

But Steeton refused to panic and continued to play their passing game, creating some good half-chances.

Harry Farnell got them level with a beautiful finish from the edge of the box.

Salts keeper Liam Brady pulled off some fine one-handed saves as the hosts went in search of a winner.

And their pressure told when a mishit clearance went over the Salts keeper for an own goal.
