Beeston St Anthony's 0 Silsden Whitestar 3

SILSDEN Whitestar reached the West Riding County FA Trophy Semi-Final after a comprehensive win over Beeston St Anthony's.

Beeston are ninth in the Yorkshire Amateur League Championship Division, while Silsden are second the Craven Premier.

The game got under way with both sides looking up for the battle.

Silsden were lively, Beeston knew they were in a game from the off.

It was even for the first 20 minutes until an overhit pass by Saint's skipper Ben McGuigan fell to a Silsden player who immediately played in his centre forward, Sam Stanfield, who worked a shooting opportunity for himself, finishing in style.

Five minutes later Silsden made it 2-0 from the spot after Danny Stead left the referee with no option but to point to the spot following a clumsy challenge. Andy Kay converting.

Beeston didn't really create anything going forward for all of the their hard work.

The start of the second-half saw Beeston give it a real good go although they could not produce the final ball on several occasions. Silsden held firm, protecting their two-goal lead fairly comfortably.

Fresh legs where introduced on 60 minutes by the Saints with both wingers replaced and Danny Moran making way in central midfield when his legs started getting heavy.

The game was finished off with eight minutes to go, when a cool side foot volley was guided home by Silsden's Patryk Barylski to make it 3-0.

Ryan Thorpe earned the man of the match award with McGuigan not far behind.
