Toller FC 1 Crossflatts Village FC 17

CROSSFLATTS Village sealed promotion to the Bradford Sunday Alliance Premiership with a resounding 17-1 away win at Toller FC.

The star of the show for the away side was man-of-the-match Lewis Morgan who bagged six goals.

Connor Erangey kept up his excellent recent goal-scoring form with a hat-trick. Michael Garnett, Billy Bailey and James Gill all scored two goals each. Colin Schofield and Matthew Morgan also found the target.

The goal of the game came in the first half from James Gill, who fired home a superlative right foot volley from outside the box.

The win guarantees Flatts' promotion to the Premiership and it also closed the goal difference gap on league leaders Station Hotel.

The club, who joined the Bradford Sunday Alliance from the Wharfedale Triangle League in the summer, are in the finals of the Keighley & District and League Cups that are to be played next month, and they also got to the last four of the West Riding County FA Cup.

Flatts manager Kevin Gill said: "The players have turned up tonight and done a job and I'm over the moon.

"The games have been coming thick and fast, and the lads have put in a lot of effort and now we get to reap the rewards.

"We have five massive games left this season and the treble is still a possibility, but first we will celebrate our promotion and then we will start preparing for our crunch game with Station Hotel at their place."

The game also saw a return to the fray for club legend Craig Durn, who had been in America undergoing keyhole surgery on a knee problem. The 35-year-old's return to full fitness will be a massive coup for Gill with his side chasing the treble.

Durn came off the bench in the 80th minute and almost scored with his first touch but his header was well saved by the Toller FC keeper. Gill went on to praise his returning stalwart:

"It's great to have Durn back. He's going to be hard to leave out of the starting eleven now that he's back to full fitness and causing havoc up front. He might prove to be the spark that we need to help us finish the season on a high."
