Silsden’s ground will be known as The Angel Telecom Stadium after the club agreed a five-year deal with the Bradford-based company.
The telecom business have been senior kit sponsors during the last few seasons and are now keen to bolster their financial input.
The club aims to increase its already large contingency of junior teams with additional floodlit training and mini pitches and Angel have agreed to inject money into the club’s Millennium building fund to ensure this expansion programme can go ahead as soon as possible.
Their funding, along with Silsden’s own money-raising ventures, will also allow work to be carried out on the main pitch.
Cobbydalers chairman Sean McNulty said: “We have worked together with Angel since our move back to Silsden as they have, during the last few seasons, supplied and maintained the senior kits. “We consider it a privilege to be associated with such a young go-ahead company and welcome them as our new partners.”
Angel Telecom director Stuart Hudson said: “Sponsorship agreements are vital to keep local teams in action which really helps support the game at a grass roots level. “Silsden AFC enjoy a lot of local interest, with followers from all different age groups who come from far and wide to cheer their team on. “With our input into the Millennium fund, set up for building and ground maintenance, the grounds team hope to create the best playing surface in the area which will ensure the fans enjoy some fantastic matches in the future.”
Hudson’s son Chris broke into the Silsden senior playing ranks last season, while fellow director Daniel Farmer has a child playing for the Cobbydalers’ juniors.
The club plans to join forces with Angel – who will also sponsor the team’s new kit this season – to raise funds for the Manorlands charity.
Other future plans include regular special discounts on mobile phone deals for fans and a mobile recycling scheme, encouraging supporters to donate their old phones and put some cash into club coffers.
Angel will kick off as official ground sponsors on August 1.
