Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One leaders Oakworth were in fine form at home to Bradley on Saturday.

Recent recruit Phil Binner led the Matthews Lane side to a very creditable 171-9 as Steve Filkin took 4-36 and Matt House 3-35.

But the Cure Hill side cruised home by eight wickets with Gareth Marshall making 76no and skipper Michael Scarborough 50no.

Cullingworth are second, now seven points adrift, after dropping a point in a dramatic tie at home to Barrowford.

The Bull Holme side made 177 after being 114-9, with Shakeel Butt hitting 85 as veteran Dave Robinson took 5-48 off 14 overs.

The Roydwood Terrace side were always in the hunt and reached the last over requiring nine runs to win.

Sadly for them they could only manage eight and it was two points apiece. Steve Welch made 60 and Chris Welch 58no as Ajmal Choudrhy spun his way to 4-34 off 13 overs.

Haworth Road are third after beating Embsay by six wickets at Shires Lane. The villagers made 217-4 in their overs, with Duncan Ward 88no and John Golson 62no putting on an undefeated 109 for the fifth wicket.

The Baildon Bottom side got home with just six balls to spare with Chris Griggs anchoring the innings with 77no and Mansha Khan scoring 43.

Haworth move up to fourth after a crushing victory over Crossflatts at West Lane.

Jamie Rowell (72) was in the runs again, along with Damian Rowell (51) and David Alderson (38) as the Bronte side amassed 229-9, with Mohammed Adil taking 4-64.

The Ryshworth Park side were undone by Stephen Bell (5-15) and Damian Rowell (5-28) to be back in the hut for 102.

Bingley Congs were in complete control at home to Ingrow St John’s. First they knocked over the Saints for 114, and then sauntered home by eight wickets with Mick Brooksbank making 59.

The basement battle between Foulridge and Thornton at Noyna went the way of the visitors by three wickets, a win that takes the winners out of the bottom two.

The hosts were indebted to Andy Dutton (66) for their total of 165 as Jack Laycock took 4-32 and Chris Bowker 3-46. The latter then hit 83no to lead his side to the points.

The top of the table clash in Division Two at Grange Road saw leaders Riddlesden go down to their third defeat of the season.

Going first, the hosts tumbled to 16-4 before Mohammed Shanawaz (46) and A Khan (32) helped them to 151, S Hassan (4-14), Steve Richardson (3-40) and Martyn Dalby (3-60) sharing the wickets.

Dalby then hit 62 to help his side to the points by five wickets and close the gap at the top to just one point.

Third-placed Glusburn consolidated their position at fourth-placed Barrowford II. The Bull Holme side were knocked over for a modest 83 with Nick Williamson claiming 6-21 off 17 overs and L Robinson 3-20. Williamson then made 23no to help his side over the line by six wickets.

Ingrow struggled to get past Wilsden’s 134 at Hainworth, but managed it by just one wicket. In the Windy Grove side's innings, Chris Herbert took 5-44 and Mark Price 3-1, while Stuart Wilson bagged 6-66 for the losers.

Long Lee moved a little further from the relegation zone after a cracking 134-run victory at Sutton. Mark Day, with a superb 137, aided by Jamie Robinson (48) and Shabaz Ahmed (42no) helped the Golden View side to a mammoth 289-5.

In reply, Chris Williams (60) was again the mainstay of the Sutton innings which closed on 155, with Ahmed taking 3-35.

Another massive score - 300-9 - was made by Oakworth II at Victory Park.

Top scorer was No 10 Jordan Powell, who made 60 to go with efforts by Rob Hollingsworth (58) and Steve Powell 42. Powell reached 50 off just 14 balls and hit seven sixes.

Pendle Forest, lacking their two strike bowlers who didn’t turn up, were knocked over for 69, with Jack Ellis taking 6-29.

The basement battle between Denholme and Airedale saw the Keighley Road side take the points by ten runs to move out of the relegation places.

Luke Pickles was the top scorer in the home side's 168 as S Javid took 5-29. Paul Feather made 42 as the visitors closed on 158-9, with the wickets shared among the six bowlers used.

Third Division leaders Chatburn have opened up a three-point gap at the top after they won convincingly at Eldwick & Gilstead and Wilsden II lost at home to Embsay II.

The Ribble Valley side dismissed the hosts for 100, of which Chris Childs made 71. Andy Booth took 5-31, which included a hat-trick, and John Lockley 3-34. Then Neil Cartledge (62no) and Mark Braithwaite (39no) took the visitors to the spoils by ten wickets.

Embsay II rattled up 201-9 in their innings, with Jonathan Coward making 84 and seasoned campaigner Brian Hodgson 42. The ten-man Windy Grove side were dismissed for 133, with I Khan top-scoring with 30 as Coward took 3-32.

Sandy Lane got back to winning ways with an eight-wicket triumph over neighbours Haworth Road II. Ian Robson 32 top-scored for the Baildon Bottom side as Chris Mitchell took 5-10 and Steve Carass 5-40. A Blackburn made 59 for the Greenwood Park side.

Ingrow St John's II halted Bradford & Bingley III's march up the table with a five-run victory. S Iqbal made 29 as the Saints totalled 143, with N Smith taking 5-65 and Rob Cogswell 3-19.

As long as Andrew Dobson was at the wicket, the Wagon Lane side were in with a chance. However, he went for 59 to make it 133-7 and the innings folded quickly for 138.

Crossflatts II were unable to raise a side and conceded three points to Cononley.

Division Four leaders Skipton CI lost their unbeaten record in a low-scoring game against Riddlesden II.

The visitors made 95, with Imtiaz Siddique making 32 as Peter Simpson took 4-41, Sean Williamson 3-11 and John Stuttard 3-36.

The usually reliable batting of the Sandylands side then failed. They were quickly 4-3 and struggled to 40-7 before a bit of tail-wagging got them to 78 all out. Imran Mehban was the destroyer in chief with 7-33 off 13 overs.

Ian Beattie scored 62, and Bryan Hollis (36no) and A Cairns (26no) put on 47 for the eighth wicket as Glusburn II reached 185-8, Martin Rendell took 5-81. Cullingworth II were led to a six-wicket victory by youngster Martin Walker, who made a stylish 86.

Thornton II posted 170 at home to Ingrow II, with Paul Ellis scoring 62 and Mark Proctor 43 as Tony Hodgson took 6-69. The Hainworth side could only muster 104-8 in reply, with Phil Broadley scoring 44.

A second-wicket partnership of 89 helped Airedale to 152 at home to Bingley Congs, with N Hanif scoring 54 and Wayne Coppack 37. The Beckfoot Lane side cruised to victory by four wickets with Rick Andrews making 91 as Alan Hayes took 4-50.

There was a tremendous game at Matthews Lane which yielded 432 runs. Visitors Pendle Forest II made 214-9, with Umar Khatab making 74 and Shabaz Ahmed 47 as Jack Andrews took 4-55 off 14 overs.

After three early Bradley setbacks, Andrew Curtis (60) and Paul McGowan (53) got the innings back on track before James Robinson (30) and J Bedford (41no) took them to the winning post by two wickets with just one ball to spare.

Long Lee II were unable to raise a side and conceded three welcome points to bottom side Haworth II.

Ben Fothergill, with a super 106, and Ollie Huck (59) helped Division Five leaders Oakworth III to an impressive 252-5 against Sutton II. In reply, the visitors made 132-9.

Second-placed Denholme II keep up the pressure on the leaders after travelling to Chatburn II and winning by 60 runs.

Jack Harrison (50), Martin Armitage (37) and C Dennison (38no) were instrumental in the Keighley Road side making 185-8.

Then Cameron Foster (4-20) and Ian Spencer (4-42) had the Ribble Valley side back in the hut for 125. Rob Storr took 6-15 as Gargrave II won by eight wickets at Sandy Lane II.

Up at Penistone Park, Haworth West End II made 202 at home to Foulridge II, with Harry Sherlock hitting 69 and Sam Hallas 62 as S Munir claimed 4-53. The Noyna side closed on 164, with C Mitchell and Ir Khaliq both scoring 56 as Peter Hatton took 5-63.

Finally Cowling were knocked over for 122 at Keighley Road by Skipton CI II, with Simon Bygrave hitting 64 and veteran John Drake taking 6-60 from 19 overs.

After losing two quick wickets, the Sandylands side cruised home without further loss thanks to M Chisnall (49no) and Ian Burke (38no).
