HARDEN still need seven points from their final game of the Aire-Wharfe League season to be sure of staying up.

They go to Division Two champions Follifoot on Saturday, while Skipton – who also need seven points for safety – are at Knaresborough.

Threatening both Harden and Skipton are second-bottom Upper Wharfedale, who are at promotion-chasing Colton.

Harden, who made 134-9, must have been thinking of victory on Saturday when Tong Park Esholt were 55-5.

But a sixth-wicket stand of 40 between Danny Groom (38) and Andrew Bourne (25no) helped Tong Park ensure their safety on their way to 135-7.

Steeton benefited from some 'cafeteria' bowling as they tried to set up a target for Collingham to chase in another rain-affected contest in Division One.

Rain beforehand had already reduced the match to 41 overs per side and more precipitation meant that 31 further overs were scrubbed off the match total.

Andrew Foulds made 65 not out off 67 balls (one six, 13 fours) asSteeton reached their pre-arranged declaration target of 150-6 as agreed between the captains, 73 runs having come in 4.5 overs.

Collingham now had 26 overs to pass Steeton's total and they were 46-2 after seven overs, which included a farcical run-out.

Things looked even more promising for the visitors when Collingham were reduced to 96-7 after 15 overs. But the hosts won by three wickets after 23.1 overs thanks to an unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 58.

James Emmott (3-32 off six overs) was the pick of the Steeton bowlers but their fielding and catching was not up to the required quality.

Majid Inayat notched a half-century for Silsden as they made 109-3 at Alwoodley, who had scored 206-4 in Division Three.

Mick Wilson passed 1,000 runs this season for Steeton's second team after his 70 from 84 balls (two sixes, eight fours) at home to Horsforth in Division One.

Rain reduced Steeton's allowance to 39 overs and Wilson and Hayden Tennant (49) put on 116 for the third wicket, while Adam Hardwick (23no) and Gary Boulton (41no) added 64 unbroken for the sixth wicket in their 206-5.

Second-placed Steeton were clinical with the ball as Horsforth were dismissed for 68, Josh Gill taking 6-24 (all bowled) in eight overs and Paul Hardwick 4-38 in 7.5 overs.

Harden made 209-4 at Kirkstall Educational in Division Two before the rain set in, while Silsden were dismissed for 75 at home to Alwoodley in Division Three, the visitors being unable to start their reply.

Mark Chapman (68), Mark Pennington (40no), Ryan Birch (52no) and Phil Akrigg (3-7) were the key performers for Steeton's third team on Sunday.

They made 234-5 at Green Lane before restricting the hosts to 124-9 in the Conference B clash.
