AFTER four straight defeats in completed matches, Keighley finished their JCT600 Bradford League Division Two season with a flourish.

Buoyed by 108 from Max Davidson, they totalled 280-7 at Windhill before dismissing the cellar dwellers for 125.

Davidson struck a six and 16 fours and reached his century off just 113 balls, adding 71 for the third wicket with skipper Richard Wear (44) and 87 for the sixth with overseas player Andrew King (33) as Bankfoot used eight bowlers, Zac Wheatley taking 4-41.

There were only three contributions of note in the Busy Lane side's reply – from Hanif Khan (42), veteran Maz Bhatti (32) and Jack Holland (20) as King took 4-20 and Jonathan Wilkinson 2-6.

Keighley's maximum haul in their 11th victory of the season took them to 249 points and kept them in fourth place.

* Keighley's under-13 team retained the Bradford Junior League's David Bairstow Cup after defeating Adwalton by six wickets in the final on their own ground.

After an early setback, Adwalton recovered to 66 before losing Vinit Patel for 22 and, with one more run added, Aiden Langley was clean bowled for 36 by skipper Dillon Birkett.

From there, the innings faltered to 130-7 in their 30 overs, Dan Murphy taking 3-15 and Sam Parry 2-24.

The visitors responded strongly with an opening stand of 77 between Louis Horsfield, whose 42 included a huge six onto the roof of a neighbouring house, and Wahab Khan, who was later unfortunately run out for 33.

This gave Adwalton a glimmer of hope but the door was slammed shut by Joe Hall (33no) as Keighley won by six wickets with eight balls to spare. Thomas Lindsey took 2-11 for the hosts.
