THERE were few highlights for Keighley on a weekend of three defeats as the first team faced Bankfoot away in the league and at home in the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup, while the second team met New Farnley.

One high point was the first team reducing the hosts to 24-3 on Saturday, with Richard Wear (10-3-22-3) taking all three wickets as he and Hammy Shahzad (8-2-19-0) put a stranglehold on the innings.

However, the Odsal side recovered to 190-4 before losing their last six wickets for 16 as Sam Murphy (3-8) and Rohid Ali (3-32) ran through the tail to bowl Bankfoot out for 206.

That was more than enough for Keighley, however, with only Andy Wear showing much resistance with 39 as they were dismissed for 126.

Bankfoot bettered their 206 in the Priestley Cup tie, making 260-3, with Cosmond Walters (114) and Neil Nicholson (101no) reaching three figures as Andy Wear returned the disciplined figures of 10-3-29-1.

Keighley fared better in their reply, with 189-7 as Luke Chapman scored 43 and Martin Walker 39.

Jason Perry (3-116) and James Rogers (2-64) were the only wicket-takers for the second team at New Farnley, but both were expensive as the home side rattled up 305-5, including centuries for Tom Suggitt (104no) and Craig Russell (102).

Only one Keighley player made it into the 30s in reply, with Louis Horsefield scoring 36 in their total of 88 as New Farnley took over the divisional leadership.

On Saturday, Keighley's first team, who are third from bottom in Division Two, are at Brighouse, while the second team, who are bottom of Division One, entertain Pudsey Congs.
