OXENHOPE finally got their season up and running with an emphatic 134-run victory over Stones in Division One.

It was not all plain sailing though after the home side were reduced to 54-4 following a 50-run opening partnership between Liam Dyson (21) and Darren Hopkinson (29).

Captain Josh Tetley (44) dropped anchor and steered the innings along with Spencer Mawer, who struck a fine 56no as Oxenhope posted a total of 217-9.

A steady start in reply from the visitors gave no hint of what was to follow as Liam Dyson (5-39) and the improving Jaz Jheeta (3-27) took the innings apart to dismiss them for just 83.

Cullingworth enjoyed a run feast in Division Two at home to Great Horton Park Chapel. Steve Welch (87) led the way as the hosts hit 322-6, with Graham Rankin (76), Adrian Powis (52) and Chris Welch (49) providing good support.

The total proved beyond Park, who made 212-7 as Rankin took 3-21.

Mohammed Asif took 6-66 for Denholme Clough as Greetland were all out for 224 but Clough could only make 150 in reply.

A remarkable game at Shelf saw Oxenhope II maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.

When home opener Alex O’Keefe blasted a magnificent 150 and Chris Greenwood added 41 to take the home side to 229-4 in just 27 overs, a total nearing 400 looked likely.

The incoming batsmen, however, failed to capitalise. Craig Bartlett (4-40) and Eddie Burke (4-46) led the charge as the home side were dismissed for 258 in just 36 overs.

With a big total to chase but 54 overs to get them, the early order started steadily with Brendan Ellison (20), Jacob Ashbrook (22) and Edward Jackson (26) contributing.

The game swung on the innings of Eddie Burke (67) and Craig Bartlett (72) as the visitors got home with two wickets and two overs to spare.
