STEETON returned to winning ways in Division One as they defeated a Follifoot side still reeling from having all their points wiped out for playing an ineligible player, by six wickets.

Follifoot won the toss and decided to bat but they were soon in trouble at 28-3. Joe Stead (2-27) and Steve Pearson (1-28) posed the early problems.

Neil Spragg added a fourth wicket before James Freebury produced a devastating spell of 6-39 in 11.4 overs as Follifoot crumbled to 124 all out.

An 83-run opening partnership between Freddie Pearson (38) and Andrew Foulds (30) set Steeton on their way to their target.

Pearson's runs came from 57 deliveries with seven boundaries and Foulds made his 30 from 62 balls with four boundaries. Neil Spragg chipped in with 12 runs and Chris Baines with 13not out as Steeton passed the meagre Follifoot target with 31 overs to spare to secure 16 points.

Harden suffered a two-wicket defeat in a close-fought encounter with Thackley in Division Two.

Jonathan Rudge took three wickets in five balls in his 6-33 spell as Harden were restricted to 171, a score which was boosted by a defiant tenth-wicket stand of 75 from Mark Portlock (55no) and Phil Leng (54).

Thackley didn't find the going easy when they batted. Joshua Brooksbank's 42 was the key contribution as

Michael O’Flaherty (5-38) tried desperately to turn the game Harden's way.

Silsden continue to struggle and occupy the bottom position in Division Three. Silsden's batting crumbled again as they were bowled out for just 56 at home to Menston with Ashley Close taking (6-28) and Charlie Parker (4-36).

Parker rubbed salt into Silsden's wounds by making an unbeaten 42 as Menston won in 9.1 overs.

Steeton II snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against Adel. They appeared to be in control when they reduced their opponents to 85-6 after Gary Boulton took 3-33, but they let them off the hook and suffered a three-wicket defeat.

A rapid seventh-wicket partnership of 124 helped Adel to overhaul Steeton’s score of 213-8 with with 3.1 overs so spare.

Opener Chris Luxton was Steeton’s top scorer with 58 while Phil Barrett made 47no and skipperCraig Walton 37.
