OXENHOPE'S brief revival came to a resounding halt as once again the frailty of their batting order was exposed and a winning position thrown away at home to Sowerby St Peters in Division One.

The visitors batted first and opener Brook anchored the innings with 69 as Liam Dyson ripped through the middle and lower order with 7-57 to dismiss them for what appeared an inadequate 188. That view seemed to hold as Darren Hopkinson (26) and Stuart Jackson (20) put on a steady 40 for the first wicket but once they were removed it was a familiar story of collapse as only two others made double figures in a paltry total of 101.

Sowerby's Matthew Hoyle (4-40) and Mark Schofield (6-25) were the chief architects of a resounding victory.

Oxenhope II continued their winning streak at a blustery Old Town II. The home side were put in and soon in trouble as Robin Cusdin (3-36 ) and Eddie Jackson (3-27) cut through a batting line-up where top scorer Shah (25) was matched only by the extras on the way to a total of 107.

A revised Oxenhope batting order lost four wickets in the chase as rain clouds threatened but Luke Fleetwood (50no), Tow Mawer (27) and Brendan Ellison (22no) made it a comfortable victory.
