SAM Murphy provided some cheer for Keighley but they remain three points adrift at the bottom of Bradford League Division Two.

He top-scored with 61 but the Lawkholme Lane side fell to a 54-run defeat at promotion-chasing Gomersal.

Openers Ben Hyde (65) and Adam Greenwood (65) provided the platform for the hosts' win with a partnership of 130 which helped Gomersal to make 229, despite the efforts of Andrew Wear (4-58).

Murphy spearheaded Keighley's reply, and Max Davidson (32) and Andrew Wear (31) provided useful support, but it was not enough to prevent their side's seventh defeat in nine games. Jonathan Boynton took 3-42 as Keighley were restricted to 175-9.

Yeadon II added to the misery for struggling Keighley II as they inflicted a six-wicket defeat. Ryan Mooney took 5-34 as the hosts were restricted to 122-9, veteran Steve Reape top-scoring with 30. Yeadon eased to their target as Steve Simpson hit 36.
