AFTER the young guns at Oxenhope shone the previous week, it was the old campaigners' turn to lead Oxenhope to a 102-run win over Luddendenfoot in Division One. Darren Hopkinson led the way with a magnificent 176 at the top of the order, which included 28 fours and four sixes, that was the cornerstone of a total of 300-9.

Luddendenfoot tried gamely to match the required rate, with Baldwin (55) and Illingworth (31) the leading scorers as they were dismissed for 198, with veteran Duncan Tetley taking 4-38 to secure the full 12 points.

Oxenhope II continued their winning run with a 45-run victory at Luddendenfoot II. Batting first, they struggled to impose themselves despite 30 each from Brendan Ellison and Josh Ferguson. Nathan Storton set up the winning position with 66no as A Roy returned excellent figures of 5-74, the visitors reaching 211-7. In reply only Whittingham with 56 was a match for the bowling of Robin Cusdin, who took 6-68 to help dismiss the home side for 166.

Oxenhope II could not repeat their recent success over Queensbury II in the Crossley Shield quarter-final as they slipped to a five-wicket defeat.

The early order fell to Jason Thorpe (3-12) before Craig Bartlett (30) and Tom Tetley (30) briefly threatened a revival. Once they were dismissed by Bruce (4-44), only Luke Fleetwood (24) and Sam Fleetwood (20) offered any resistance as they were dismissed for just 152.

The visitors never really looked likely to fail in their task as Kirkby (23) and Dougal (25) got them off to a decent start but it was Russon (62) who saw them home with five wickets to spare. The only highlight in the field for Oxenhope was four fine catches for Storton.
