DENHOLME are pushing hard for promotion from Division Two of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

A three-wicket victory at home to Wilsden has left them in a three-way tie for second place behind leaders Oakworth II, who cannot be promoted.

Colin Bottomley top-scored for Wilsden in their 155 as Ryan Judson took 6-60 and Matty Wear 3-31, Denholme replying with a quickfire 158-7 on the back of 58 from Joe Greenwood and 52 from Toby Priestley as Steve Wright did well to take 3-14.

Cowling, one of those teams who are level with Richard Taylor's boys, made short work of Long Lee, who were dismissed for 118, Shahid Hassan taking 5-40 and Martyn Dalby 3-32.

Wasim Hussain (57no) and Mark Adams (49no) then knocked the runs off in 32.3 overs.

Oakworth were in a more destructive mood with the bat, reaching visitors Ingrow's score of 154 for the loss of one wicket in just 30.3 overs.

Wicket-keeper Ben Bright made 50 but in general Ingrow found life difficult against Joel Fothergill (4-27), Richard Cavender (3-47) and Ben Fothergill (3-49).

Nivard Trowers (78no) led the way for Oaks with the bat, being backed up by Drew Duffy (42) in an opening stand of 79 and Ben Fothergill (31no).

The most dramatic finish was at Glusburn, where the home side triumphed by two wickets over Thornton-in-Craven off the first ball of the final over.

Nick Williamson bagged 5-59 in the hosts' 202-8, and skipper Steve Brown (46), Jack Roberts (33), Williamson (29) and Ian Simons (22) led the reply.

A 52 opening partnership between Waris Ismail (23) and Sean Knapper (27) looked like making life easy for Airedale, who needed 123 to win at home to Hepworth & Idle.

However, they only won by three wickets after Warren Coppack (4-39) had helped to restrict the Westfield Laners.

There were almost 600 runs at Bradley but the home side only made 240 of them, James Heseltine scoring 55, Caspar Bean 46 and Neil Andrews 31 after Gargrave had recovered from 46-3 to score 359-6.

Division One joint leaders Oakworth are getting the benefit of Ben Howell's progress, and he took 5-40 and scored an unbeaten 21 in the eight-wicket victory at Barrowford.

Jack Davison (2-6), Joel Gallagher (59) and Robert Hopkinson (44) were other key performers as Barrowford were dismissed for 130.

Ingrow St John's, who share top spot with Oakworth, rattled up 242-9 at Embsay, Omar Khatab making exactly 100, Farhan Abbasi 54 and Deepal Dissanayake 34, Embsay replying with 177-9 as Wasim Hussain took 5-57.

Crossflatts were business-like in their home win over Riddlesden that kept them in third.

The first three visiting batsmen all made ducks as they struggled to 124 on the back of 40 not out from Zahir Abbas, 34 from Mohammed Gulnawaz and 27 from Amjid Hussain as Alex Bradbury took 4-48, Qamar Ayub 3-28 and Will McLaughlan 3-10.

Wicket-keeper Dominic Bennett scored 51 not out and Nathan Bradbury 51 as Crossflatts won by nine wickets after 31 overs.

Jamie Rowell (3-43 and 52) could not save Haworth from a 13-run defeat at Haworth Road Meths, while Sutton were on the wrong end of a one-wicket defeat against Foulridge and Neil Copping (145) starred for Bingley Congs in their thumping of Chatburn, Matty Roberts taking 5-36 and Aidy Dibb 4-33.
