JON Best certainly made his last home game memorable for Steeton.

He was in devastating form with the ball, taking 7-44 as they ended a depressing run of results with a three-wicket win over Follifoot, which pushed the latter nearer the bottom of the Division One table.

James Emmott (3-64) also helped to dismiss the visitors, who had been put in, for 156, nine of their batsmen being caught, and then Best followed up with an unbeaten 29 as Steeton eased their relegation fears.

Man of the match Best came to the wicket at 68-4 after Andy Foulds (21) and John Akrigg (18), and Ollie Gledhill (21) helped them across the line.

In-form Harden skipper Paul Quinlan took 4-23 as they won a low-scoring encounter at home to Thackley in Division Two.

Scott Hartley (29no) came in at 61-7 and helped Harden almost double their score to 111 but no-one was able to back up Thackley opener Josh Brooksbank's 35 as they were dismissed for 99, Phil Leng taking a miserly 2-13 off 12 overs.

Silsden’s winless run in Division Three continued as they suffered a 130-run defeat against Menston.

Charlie Parker (40) was top scorer in Menston’s 190, with Matthew Shuttleworth taking 4-55 and Zabi Ullah 3-46.

But Silsden’s miserable run continued as Ashley Close (7-23) and Parker (3-35) sent them crashing for 60, only Majid Inayat (31) and Sadir Khan (13) making double figures.

Steeton's second team gave debuts to youngsters Harris Rowlett and Tom Meakin, who had arrived expecting to be scoring at Adel in their Division One match.

The home side won the toss and put Steeton in but opener David Robinson profited from some poor fielding to make 65, which included a six and six fours.

However, Steeton did not fare well in their trial by spin, Jeff Shires taking the first eight wickets at a personal cost of 24 runs in 15 overs as the visitors slumped from 45-1 to 69-7.

Robinson was eighth out but Steeton skipper Paul Hardwick also stopped the rot with a composed 36, helping them to 131.

Phil Barrett, who had never kept wicket before, was then Steeton's substitute replacement keeper, Josh Gill putting Adel on the back foot with an opening spell of 2-17 from eight overs.

Hardwick then bagged two in two in his 2-18 from seven overs but thunder and lightning won the day won the day with Adel 45-4 off 18.5 overs.

Harden's Richard Falkingham (5-26) and Ben McGonigle (4-23) were key men at Calverley, who were dismissed for 115, Harden winning by four wickets in Division Two, while Andrew Pullen's 46 was Silsden's only highlight in their six-wicket Division Three loss to Menston.
