MAX Davidson made the highest score of the match for Keighley on Saturday in their JCT600 Bradford League clash at Yeadon.

However, the opener's 45 proved in vain as as Damon Gormley (4-13) and Altaf Mohammed (4-21) triggered a collapse from 78-2 to 94 all out.

Jack Beetham (13) was the only other player to reach double figures, but Keighley were given hope when Yeadon were reduced to 29-3, Richard Wear (2-16) and Hammy Shehzad (1-25) doing the damage.

However they were thwarted by twin knocks of 36 not out from James Todd and Steve Simpson as Yeadon won by seven wickets in 24.1 overs.

Keighley were also facing defeat on Sunday at home to Spen Victoria, wicket-keeper Jonny Wilkinson top-scoring with 25 in the home side's 117.

Spen were 55-2 off 12.2 overs when the rains came, Matt Garside having made 33.

George Heartfield's 69 could not save Keighley seconds from defeat at home to Farsley, whose 171 (Andrew Coppen 4-32, Ashley Robinson 3-27)was 33 too many for the home side.
