KEIGHLEY’S young side finished their testing season on a high note with a 38-run win over Baildon in a game reduced to 20 over per side due to rain.

It enabled them to finish tenth in Division Two, a position they will be hoping to build on now that their players have experienced a full JCT600 Bradford League campaign.

Hammy Shahzad was the man who put the skids under third-placed Baildon. He took 5-19 as the third-placed side were restricted to 81-8 when they replied to Keighley's 119-8.

Wicketkeeper Jonathan Wilkinson, who has had a good end to the season with the bat, top scored 31 as leg-spinner Jamie Abbott took 6-15 for Baildon.

The rain denied Oxenhope IIs the chance to snatch the Halifax League Second Teams Division Two title. Their match with Queensbury was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Both teams earned four points and will be promoted but Queensbury are champions by virtue of having more 12-point wins.
