OAKWORTH Cricket Club are holding their annual meeting next Tuesday (March 29) in their clubhouse (7.30pm).

As well as looking forward to the coming season and receiving the club’s yearly financial statement, there will also be reflections on what was a significant year in the annals of the club.

The year started with the unveiling of the refurbished clubhouse and continued with the success of the Manorlands Plate charity day, but that was immediately followed by the tragic death of Simon Howell and, last month, that of Yvonne Lawn.

A minute's silence will be held at the start of the meeting to remember all those who have been lost during the past 12 months.

The playing season finished with four pieces of Mewies Solicitors Craven League silverware – the championships of Division One and Division Two and the Cowling Cup, plus the Manorlands Plate.

Oakworth are also holding a pre-season horse race night in their clubhouse on Saturday, April 9 (7.00).
