MOST games were washed out at tea-time in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League but there was still time for three centuries and two seven-wicket hauls.

One of the bowling stars was Tom Greenwood for Denholme in Division One, who had a cracking game against visitors Ingrow St John's, who took the spoils by seven runs.

The Street Lane side made 206, with Ahtasham Raza top-scoring with 39 as Greenwood took 7-47, and the hosts closed on 199, with Toby Priestley hitting 73 and Isaac Murray 63 as Wasim Hussain took 4-59 and Deepal Dissanayake 3-8.

The top two – Haworth and Bingley Congs – met in Bronteland.

The home side went first and had made 151-7 in 37 overs with Dave Bainbridge scoring 62 and Gary Binns 32 as Mohammad Adil took 3-58 before play ceased, so Congs retain their one-point advantage.

The hard-luck story belonged to third-placed Crossflatts, who were at The Coliseum and dismissed Cowling for 90, with Vikram Bakshi taking 5-13.

The Ryshworth Park side were well on their way to victory at 49-0 off only seven overs when play stopped.

Sutton are fourth after they drew with Oakworth at Royd Hill.

After the opening of their new pavilion on Friday, Sutton played their first home game of the season on their own ground.

The Cure Hill side were dismissed for 115, with No 8 Brannan Lawn rescuing the cause with 48 not out as Richard Walker claimed 6-34, but the hosts didn’t get the chance to reply.

Riddlesden had struggled to 130-7 in 34.4 overs at Foulridge when time was called, while Muhammad Zahir scored 78 in Haworth Road's 169-8 as Sam Arkwright claimed 3-50, visitors Embsay then making 49-2.

Division Two leaders Hepworth & Idle suffered a flash flood on Friday night, so no play was possible in their game with Barrowford.

Haworth Road are second, on run rate, after they drew with Ingrow. The Baildon Bottom side totalled 145-8, with Samir Butt making 50 as Aaron Pearce took 4-59.

Wilsden would possibly be grateful for the rain.

Visitors Oakworth had rattled up 219-5, with Drew Duffey scoring a superb 105, and the Windy Grove side stood at 23-1 when play was abandoned.

There was another centurion at Street Lane, where Glusburn’s Nick Williamson made a superb 108 to go with Mark Johnston’s 88 and Matt Lloyd’s 44 as they totalled 292-7, but nine-man Ingrow St John’s didn’t get an opportunity to reply.

Thornton had made 152-3 at home to Airedale when play was abandoned.

There was a nail-biter at Matthew Lane, where Bradley overcame Chatburn by three wickets in a low-scoring game. The high-scoring Ribble Valley batters tumbled to 21-6, Andy Booth (27) and Ashley Bennett (20) pitting on 41 for the seven wicket before the innings closed on 80.

The latter had led a charmed life as he was dropped seven times and the ball even hit his wicket without dislodging a bail!

John Duffey (4-23) and 14-year-old Frank Watkinson (3-19) took the bowling honours.

The hosts then collapsed to 46-6 before John Drake (17no) and Vince Grant (11) took them to 71-7.

From there, they snuck across the line for their first victory of the season, despite Jonny Lockley taking 4-42 and Andy Booth 3-35.

Division Three's top two, Long Lee and Sandy Lane, both managed to win, despite the weather.

Long Lee dropped down the hill to Riddlesden II and dismissed the hosts for 128, of which John Pinkerton scored 57 as Shahbaz Ahmed took 5-23.

The Golden View side stormed to a five-wicket win in just 15 overs, Richard Ayton hitting four fours and six sixes in his 58, while Paul Stowell made 38.

Sandy Lane travelled to Aire View to face Eldwick & Gilstead and dismissed them for 93, with Shahbaz Ahmed taking 6-24. Ali Chaudhry (34no) then led the six-wicket victory charge.

Bingley Congs II were restricted to 104 by visitors Gargrave, with Dave Tarren making 47 as Harry McEneaney claimed 7-20.

The Skipton Road side had reached 54-3 in only six overs, led by John Beckwith with 45 not out.

Cononley’s Herbie Starkey blasted a magnificent 120 (13 fours, eight sixes) as his side reached 200-6 in 31.3 overs before declaring.

Visitors Denholme II were then hustled out for 96, with Josh Wheatley (47) being the only batter in double figures. Starkey took 4-6 to complete as memorable day for him, while Matthew Phillips took 3-19.

At Ryshworth Park, Crossflatts II made 154, with Mick Bailey scoring 69 as John Stuttard claimed 3-35, but visitors Skipton CI were unable to make any reply.

It was a similar story at Shires Lane where visitors Bradford & Bingley III were restricted to 116, Tom Carrow top- scoring with 46 as Simon Holt took 5-31 and 16-year-old Tom Robinson 4-17, but rain prevented Embsay II from starting.

In Divisions Four and Five, evergreen Bryan Hollis took 7-22 as Haworth II were dismissed for 107, with Charlie Shimmin making 40.

The latter then took 3-20 as hosts Glusburn II reached 47-4.

Olly Stell (42no) and Bradley Powell (40) put on 73 for the sixth wicket as Oakworth III made 144-8, and hosts Airedale II had reached 13-1.

Cononley II had No 9 Jim Owthwaite 44 to thank for them reaching 139 at Bronte Field as Asher Nutting claimed 4-40 and Matthew Brian 3-5 in 17 balls, but Bingley Congs III were unable to start their reply as rain swept in from across the valley.

Ingrow II were restricted to 116 at Skipton Road, with Rob Storr 5-24 and Tony Spensley 5-43 doing the damage. Ten-man Gargrave II then slumped to 57 as Dale Hoyle took 4-28 and Liam Whitney 4-11.

George Bell contributed 50 to Bradley II's 124-7 at Sandylands, and the hosts took the spoils by six wickets with William Shuttleworth and Bruce Woodhouse both scoring 40 not out.

Barrowford II got home by two wickets at Bull Holme after visitors Hepworth & Idle II scored 173, with Simon McDermott making 80 as Marc Atkinson and Robert Harris took three wickets apiece.

Asad Iqbal top-scored with 42 as the home side took the points with ten balls to spare.

Ben Stowell top-scored with 32 as Long Lee II posted 173-9 at Golden View as Aqib Chatta claimed 4-28 and Yasser Chatta 3-40. Cowling II replied with 25-1.

Foulridge II made 145 and Sandy Lane II had replied with 51-2 at Greenwood Park when time was called.

Meanwhile, no play possible between Chatburn II and Sutton II due to a waterlogged pitch after a torrential downpour.
